Test Dates: THEO with SLT will offer Iowa Basic and Stanford testing during the weeks of May 17-21, 2010 and May 24-28, 2010.
Registration Deadline: We must mail in our order by April 1st The last date we will accept testing reservations is Monday, March 29, 2010
Cost: $70 total for Iowa or Stanford basic--which means we buy your test OR $95 if you want your child to take the Olsat, which is an extra hour of testing on Friday May 21st.
What is the Olsat? One extra hour of testing which helps you understand the results of the Stanford Achievement test. This test will tell you whether your son who scored at the 90th percentile is performing at his capabilities or below his capabilities. Or it might tell you that your son who scored in the 70th percentile is performing at his top capability.
What you get:
· 6-7 hours of testing in a familiar classroom with healthy protein snacks provided
· Testing will occur over two days to allow the student time to refresh.
· Cost includes the test itself plus shipping charges to mail the results to your home
· Maximum number of students/room will be 10 except for the 9-12th grade testing sessions
Location: At THEO (location map)
1301 Custer Road, Suite 703, Plano, TX 75075
Southwest corner of Custer and 15th Street in Plano Texas.
Who Can Test: Anyone can test with THEO, but we are only going to test grades 2-12.
Exam Proctor(s): Paula Smith with help from Terri Threadgill and other THEO teachers as needed
Which test should I choose? You can visit www.bjup.com to learn more about each test, or perhaps you want to read up by “Googling” Iowa Basic and Stanford Achievement Tests. Basically: Iowa tests are timed; on the Stanford test they can work as long as they are working productively.
Complete the THEO Testing Registration Form above and send it with your $70 check (or $95 check) payable to THEO.

Eager to find a practice Stanford Achievement test for your student?
If so, visit the BJUP website, where there should be two things available:
One is a booklet called “Better Test Scores” – you purchase these by subject area or in a groups perhaps, but they have test questions that are very similar to the ones found on the SAT. The format is not exactly like the Stanford 10, but it covers material that may be tested. These books contain a fair amount of subject matter and are designed to be more of a test prep type of book.
Secondly is something called the Parent Preview for the Stanford 10 – You may have to call BJUP or search carefully for this option, which is a small booklet with sample test questions from every section of the SAT test – in color, same format – looks exactly like what the student will see on test day. Each section offers a handful of questions – not designed for test prep per se, simply a preview of what the test itself will look like. Questions are read and asked just like the SAT, along with practice questions and everything.
