Pam Hardison
Having been in the business world 25+ years, I have come to realize that our kids face much more than we did at their age. Owning your own business teaches you thinking skills, adaptation, planning, communication and money skills – all of which our kids need to know from a practical perspective. Having two teenagers, I also know you must teach from the teen point of view with fun and variety, or you might lose them. My pledge…..to teach each student as if they were my own. We have just a few years with them. You, as parents, are making a financial sacrifice to home/private school them. It is an honor to play a small part in their lives.
My Passion
“Mom, can you sew on this button?” That was my ‘uh-oh’ moment. What else have I not taught my teenagers? Both are heading to college in 2-3 years. How were they going to learn it? They needed to know the “why” of things to make it relevant. My business skills include working with computers, accounting systems, sales, manufacturing, projections, product projections, and marketing. I’ve learned the “why” – in fact, I am still learning that! Times also change and our kids need to learn how to adapt. Let’s partner together and get the next generation motivated to tackle their future with Godly principles, and with confidence in their business and personal skills.
