In 2006, I left a very rewarding job in Human Resources to take on another even more rewarding job - stay-at-home wife and homeschooling mom.  Our 13-year old currently attends classes at Plano Area Texas Homeschool Co-op (PATH) on Mondays so, will be new to THEO this fall (2008).   We will dearly miss our PATH “family”, but we felt that our son (an only child) needed 2 days a week in a group environment. 

My Passion

Spending years interviewing and screening applicants in my former profession made me acutely aware of one thing:  young people desperately need coaching on how to present themselves.  Coaching on proper attire, attitude and presentation quickly became a passion of mine.  Teaching is another passion of mine; nothing can describe the joy I get witnessing a child grabbing hold of a piece of knowledge.   I’m particularly drawn to working with teens.  I love being able to offer them encouragement at a time in their lives when they’re making decisions that will directly affect who they become as adults.

Qualifications:

• 15 years of Human Resources experience with Venturi Staffing (Staffing Manager) and Harley-Davidson Financial Services (Human Resources Administrator) – recruiting, interviewing, screening resumes, hiring, firing, coaching and employee counseling; staffed thousands of temporary and full-time positions during the course of my career..
• Taught Money Math Classes for the last 3 semesters at PATH.
• Taught Christian Leadership Development Principles at several conferences in Africa and Jamaica.
• A passion not only for watching youth learn, but watching them enjoy learning.

Educational Background:

• Bachelor of  Arts Degree in Business Administration, Southeastern Louisiana University

• Numerous company-sponsored Human Resources training courses, including The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People
