Personal: I have known Mrs. Threadgill for about eight years through church. I’m thrilled with what she has accomplished with THEO. It’s a terrific concept that will benefit many families.
Forever interested in writing and drawing, I first bought a Speedball set in high school for one of my art classes. My imagination was captivated by the beautiful letters in the leaflet that came with that pen set. Several years later in 1983, I made my first feeble scratches with a cheap, felt-tip calligraphy pen. I was immediately hooked!
As the years went by I found myself seeking more and more instruction in this fascinating art form. During the past twenty years, many hundreds of hours of workshops and classes with world-class teachers in the field have been a joy as well as an education.
I love combining the craft of making beautiful letters by hand with the art of painting and collage. I still do the “bread and butter” work of simple calligraphy like addressing or certificates, but my passion is for the more artistic works.
My highest aim is to glorify God with my life and my art, whether with believers or those who have not yet believed.
My home and studio are in Sachse, where I have lived with my husband, Robert, my two kids, James and Rebekah, and an assortment of animals for seven years. Before that, we were in Plano for a short time and Waco for a number of years. We are actively involved with Chase Oaks Church in Plano.
