Donna Cantu
I have a BA in English and Sociology from Central Michigan University. Right out of college, I taught for two years in the public schools (Pontiac Northern High and Indianapolis Public Schools). Additionally, I am certified and trained in the Orton- Gillingham Method which allowed me to tutor dyslexic children and adults, which was very rewarding. As my family grew, I continued to tutor as time allowed.
I started my home school journey 8 years ago with my four children. Being trained with lots of different teaching experiences has been beneficial not only in teaching my own children but also others. I taught at PATH as well as Orchard, where I sat on the board for 6 years. This year I taught a year long comprehensive writing/literature course with four other families in my home. My passion is teaching, and I am very much looking forward to this new opportunity.
