I was raised in Kirkwood, MO, a suburb of St. Louis, and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 46 years.  Our oldest son David, is married to Lori, has nine children and lives in Princeton TX.  Our youngest son Stephen is a professor of medieval literature at Xavier U. in Cincinnati, Ohio.

I graduated from the Naval Academy in 1962 and after completing nuclear power training, served on two nuclear attack submarines.  Upon leaving the service in 1967, I spent six years at Combustion Engineering in Windsor, CT, six years at Union Electric in St. Louis, MO, and twenty-one years at the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Region IV, in Arlington, TX.

I became involved with homeschooling when David and Lori committed to it at the birth of their first child.  Those early years included my teaching elementary science, world history, and American history.  Recently, I have been active with the McKinney Area Christian Homeschoolers (MArCH), teaching Algebra I and II, Geometry, and Starting Points.  Most of my teaching experience has been at the adult Sunday school level and I currently lead two home Bible studies for my church.
