Rodnez Small
My name is Rodnez Radee Small. My first name is a combination of
English and Spanish, since I am bilingual. My middle name is from the African
Ashanti tribe, which means, “seeker after knowledge.” My seeking after knowledge
began in earnest when I joined the U.S. Navy after high school. It was while
stationed in Japan that I started journal writing, to documented my four-year
journey as a navy medic. After I was honorably discharged and started college in
California, my writing reached another level, when an English professor
discovered that I had a talent for writing.
I was pursuing this talent when I changed
colleges and spent a year in Panama as a student missionary. There, I discovered
another gift—teaching. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in ESL, I taught
English as a Second Language in private colleges and academies in Puerto Rico
and the United States. I have taught composition and literature for over twenty
years. And, during those years, I never lost my love of composing. I wrote on a
regular basis and submitted articles to various school publications.

After relocating to the technology belt of North Central Texas, I
acquired the technology bug, but it’s been a good experience. During the past
ten years, I’ve picked up the gift to write about technology, but in such a way
as to make technical things simple for the end user. Check out my blog at

With a return to college in 1999, I pursued a certificate in
Computer Operations. In 2006 and 2007 I received certificates in
Technology Education and Technology
Applications, which allows me to teach Graphic and Web design courses in
secondary schools. In 2010, I earned a certificate in
Web Developer with Multimedia Specialization. Being a
life-long-learner that I am, my continual study of Multimedia gives me the basis
to be able to offer state-of-the-art Internet development courses on the
secondary level.
