Texas History

Class Description: Our 32 week class will cover Texas History from geography and Indians all the way through to the 21st century using the textbook Texas and Texans.
Class time will be spent covering the topic we read in the textbook, and most weeks will include a hands-on activity. I have taught Texas History for over ten years so have lots of pent up projects for the kids! Because the class is for 6-8th grade, I will try to include the textbook work and tests, but also hands on learning—like salt relief maps, lap books, and more.
The textbook is a fairly interesting read, but I will also ask the kids to give a report, at least one per semester on a relevant topic of their choice.
Prerequisites: None
Maximum number of students: 15
Homework: Weekly reading and course work
Cost: $35 plus a one-time $10 supply fee.
Supplies that the students should bring to class: Teacher will provide textbooks. The student will be borrowing the textbook and will return it to the teacher at the end of the year.
