Class Description: This art class in mixed media exploration will qualify as a high school fine art credit. The goal of this class is to see and experience the world in a new way, through art production and appreciation. We will study the elements and principals of art and compare several artists and their work. New skills and concepts will be acquired by practicing drawing, painting, and printing techniques. Working with clay and various other media will be explored. Art II will be an enhancement of the lessons taught in Art I. Field trips to local museums will be included. An art show exhibiting the students' work will conclude each semester.
Prerequisites: It will benefit the student to take the course in succession, but it is not a requirement.
Maximum number of students: 12
Homework: 1 hour per week
Cost: $65/mo; supply fee of $50 per semester (remit supply fee when registering for this class)
Supplies that the students should bring to class: The teacher will provide all of the art supplies in order to take advantage of quantity discounts and provide consistent quality. The cost of the supplies is covered in the supply fee.
