Grades:   6 - 12

Meets:  Friday 9:00 - 10:00 (one semester class although offered each semester)

Class Description:   What would you do if given $100,000? Spend it? Invest in a bank account? Or perhaps invest in stocks? What is the stock market? What is the stock market game? We will spend ten weeks actually competing in the Stock Market Game but all 16 weeks learning about the stock market.  This game is played worldwide although we will be directly competing against other students in the North Texas Region.

The student must  have access to the internet to study stocks and to enter trades online. 

Maximum number of students: 10

Cost per student (numeric only): $40 per month (single semester) with a $20 supply fee to pay SMG fee

Homework:  One hour per week minimum, however, your success will reflect the time you spend on researching companies you want to invest in. Most students find this quite challenging and spend up to an hour each day in research.

Supplies that the students should bring to class:  Notebook to hold handouts and record research, pencil, paper, calculator
