Career and Life Planning

Grades: 9-12

Meets: Monday

Class Description: Students will receive instruction on how to present themselves, on paper and in person, in a professional manner. Students will be required to prepare a Career Portfolio that will include a resume, introduction letter, letters of reference, achievements, and samples of their best work.  This portfolio will help prepare students for future employment and for college admission; it’s something they can keep and add to for the rest of their life. Presentation skills will be taught through discussion, handouts and mock interviews by the students.

Prerequisites: None

Maximum number of students: 10

Homework: One to two hours per week

Cost:  $30; $5 one-time supply fee for copies
