Class Name
Teacher: Hilary Nagel
Grades: 7 - 8
Meets: Friday
Class Description: This will be a two semester course for 7th and 8th graders. It will be an exploration of art that allows the student to use the creative gifts that God has given them in new ways. It will benefit the student to take the courses in succession, but it is not a requirement. Exploring Art I will focus on drawing skills with various media. Exploring Art II will allow the students to build on the skills learned in Exploring Art I by exploring with pastels, paints, and 3-dimentional work. Half of the class time will be spent on instruction and the other half devoted to working on their own projects. Students will have about an hour of homework during the week. I'd like to also incorporate a field trip each semester to the Dallas Museum of Art and an exhibit of the student's work.
Prerequisites:
Maximum number of students: 12
Homework:
Cost: $60 per month per student
Supplies that the students should bring to class: Students will supply most of their art supplies. A detailed list will be sent to each student at the end of June for fall classes and at the end of November for Spring classes. The cost of the supplies should not exceed $50 per semester.
