The Stock Market Game

Class Description: What would you do if given $100,000? Spend it? Invest in a bank account? Or perhaps invest in stocks? What is the stock market? What is the stock market game? We will spend ten weeks learning about the stock market while playing the Stock Market Game (sponsored by the Dallas Morning News) and competing against other student teams nationwide. Visit www.smgww.org to learn more about this class and our fall adventure learning about the stock market. The Fall SMG competition will run from October 3rd until December 15th.
The student will most likely want to have access to the internet during this class. It isn't a necessity, but they will want to be able to check on their investments during the week.
Maximum number of students: 10
Cost per student (numeric only): $25 per month (single semester) with a $20 supply fee to pay SMG fee
Homework: One hour per week minimum, however, your success will reflect the time you spend on researching companies you want to invest in
Supplies that the students should bring to class: Pencil, paper, calculator
