Understanding the Times

Meets:  Thursday

Class Description:  “A battle is being waged for the hearts and minds of students---and the classroom is the battlefield!”  Dr. David A. Noebel, president of Summit Ministries and author of Understanding the Times, prepares Christian young people to recognize “worldview bias” and form biblical answers to arguments they will encounter in all the subject areas of higher education.  Various other books will also be used to give a full high school credit in philosophy or history.  The students will write their own personal manifesto booklets of their beliefs.  Mrs. Chapman has taught this class in the past and has attended a week long seminar by Summit Ministries to prepare teachers using this curriculum.

Homework: Homework time is 3-5 hours a week.

Cost:  $45 Monthly Fee; $15 Materials Fee

Supplies that the students should bring to class: 

• The teacher will announce the books in the summer

• Understanding the Times text and workbook new version

• Students from the same family may share all books except the workbook.
