Class Description: Structured Writing, written by Laura George, is the course of writing that inspired Mrs. Chapman to become a writing teacher. She sat under the teaching of Mrs. George while her two oldest children took this class in high school. This course will help a student learn how-to write so that they may concentrate more fully on what-to write. “The Structured Writing method defines academic writing as writing that is controlled by one idea or position and is used for explaining, defining, categorizing, persuading, informing, comparing, and/or describing.” This class builds on single paragraphs but goes far beyond the five-paragraph essay.

Homework: Homework time is 2-5 hours a week.
Cost: $45 Monthly Fee; $15 Materials Fee
Supplies that the students should bring to class:
The teacher will order books in the summer.
